A Disciple of Phoen, Dinaden during the Elanthian Conclave on Leyan, Eoanthos 29th at 11 P.M.  He discussed Phoen. Many of us learned about Phoen's place in the pantheon of the Arkati and how a paladin of Phoen helped turn the tide during the Griffin Sword Saga.

As a group of us entered Silverwood Manor we were ushered into the Elanthian Conclave, Discussion room to hear Dinaden speak.

[Elanthian Conclave, Discussion]
Most of the space in this circular chamber is taken up by an imposing round stone table, the entire surface of which is elaborately carved with orbital moons and runic symbols.  High-backed ironwood chairs encircle the table, allowing for open debate.  The pale stone walls are covered from floor to ceiling with an array of painted murals, each depicting a significant theological scene, broken only by iron sconces at regular intervals.  You also see a raffle table with some stuff on it.
His lecture is documented below:

Dinaden says, "Let us begin then."

Speaking softly to Dinaden, Linaine says, "We appreciate you attending and speaking."

Dinaden nods at Linaine.

Dinaden says, "My pleasure, of course."

Dirvy tilts her head toward Dinaden, examining him intently as the tip of one ear twitches briefly.

Dinaden grandiosely says, "As some of you likely know, our Lord Phoen has quite an exalted seat in the pantheon of Liabo!  Son to Koar and Lumnis, brother to Lorminstra and Ronan and staunch companion of Oleani."

Cryheart turns an inquisitive ear toward Dinaden.

Dinaden says, "Even a suspected half-brother to Voln, which personally I believe but that is a debate for another time."

Dinaden glances around the area.

Dinaden informally says, "Lord Phoen brings himself to mortals on occasion, but the vision is impossible to look upon directly.  It is said that he comes in the form of man, nearly identical to that of his brother Ronan. However his golden hair shines with the blinding light of the sun and cannot be looked on directly, lest one be blinded."

Mandral turns an inquisitive ear toward Dinaden.

Goldstr turns toward Dinaden and renders a sharp hand salute.

Dinaden playfully says, "There is a bit of a rumor that Phoen has a streak of ego which might explain the blinding hair."

Dinaden chuckles.

Subarashi appears to be trying hard not to grin.

Linaine begins chuckling at Dinaden!

Eruheran says, "Great hair can do that to a person."

Dinaden says, "Most often you will see Phoen represented with golden and azure colors.  His formal symbol being a golden sunburst on a field of blue."

Dinaden says, "Frequently Phoen is revered and worshipped by outdoorsman, farmers and rangers.  Not only due to his relationship with Oleani, but as God of the Sun, he is representative of everything that is fertile and life nurturing."

Dinaden takes a drink from his white peony tea.

Dinaden says, "This is also why the dark gods oppose him and the aspect of Phoen that I as a paladin of the light tend to focus on."

Speaking melodically to Dinaden, Jalodg exclaims, "I knews it!"

Dinaden passionately says, "The undead dare not tread in Phoen's realm, in his light!  Phoen's warriors will bring light to the dark and purify the vile, skulking creatures of the dark.  There is a common saying among Phoen's devoted followers."

Dinaden recites:
"Walk always in the light, or we will drag you to it."

Dinaden takes a deep breath.

Dinaden calmly says, "This is part of why I choose to believe in the relationship to Voln and a shared hatred of the undead."

Dinaden asks, "I would assume some of you participated in or have read about what was known as the Griffin Sword Saga?"

Cryheart says, "Aye...was a wee lad then."

(Nazarr looks blank.)

Dinaden says, "I knew this crowd wouldn't disappoint."

Nazarr says, "I've heard about it. Vaguely."

Jalodg agrees with Nazarr.

Dinaden thoughtfully says, "Some of you know then that a Solar Templar of Phoen Ablen, appeared to help the resistance against the forces of the dark alliance.   Although I wasn't there to witness such greatness, it was well known and witnessed widely that Ablen summoned the power of Phoen to wipe out an entire contingent of demons in one fell swoop!  This again suggests that Phoen himself strives to bring light to all that is dark, in addition to his more nurturing side."

Subarashi smiles.

Subarashi places her hand on her human templar miniature.

Subarashi says, "It was a sight to behold."

Subarashi nods once.

Dinaden says, "I do envy those of you that partook in such a legendary event, although I'm certain not all memories of it are fond."

Cryheart says, "Morvule."

Cryheart says, "Was one of the dark priests."

Subarashi nods slowly.

Ysharra says, "Morvule Thinavael."

Cryheart nods at Ysharra.

Dinaden suggestively says, "If I may, I would highly recommend a visit to the temple of Phoen located along Liabo Esplanade in Solhaven.  It is a wondrous sight that will fill your soul with warmth.  It will certainly help in a continued understanding of the realm of Phoen."

Mikalmas says, "Being a human town, they have an incredible temple district."

Mikalmas agrees with Dinaden.

Dinaden agrees with Mikalmas.

Dinaden says, "Many of the temples are a sight to behold, certainly worthy of the journey."

Dinaden nods approvingly.

Dinaden says, "I could talk forever on Phoen, but I hope this evening's discussion was a good introduction to the Lord of the Sun.  I would welcome anyone wanting more information on Phoen to seek me out and I would be more than happy to address any thoughts or questions."

Eruheran says, "If you're doin the Arkati Quest, Phoen's temple would definitely be a great place to visit."

Dinaden bows respectfully, his eyes fixed firmly on the ground.

*After finishing his lecture and speech, the crowd applauds and extends thanks for the knowledgable information.*
