On Leyan the 29th we all gathered all across Elanthia at Silverwood Manor. This evening we joined Clunk as he spoke on the lore of how Arkati and dwarves came to be.

Promptly at 8 elven Clunk started his lecture in the Elanthian Conclave, Rotunda, many gathered around.

[Elanthian Conclave, Rotunda]
Architectural stone pillars encircle a vast rotunda, soaring to a domed ceiling overhead with an oculus open to a starry sky.  A semi-circle of white alabaster columns opposes an identical arrangement of mica-flecked black granite, the contrast of light and dark mirrored in the bisected marble floor set with a gilt-inlaid compass in its center.  Cardinal points direct visitors to four archways, with niches and benches placed around the chamber for those that wish to linger.  You also see a large sign and a donation box.

The documented lecture is below:

Clunk deeply says, "I be Clunk of Logoth, and I has spent lots of time listenin to stories and lookin about Logoth."

Clunk deeply says, "This eve be about what I think I has learned."

Clunk deeply says, "So."

Clunk recites deeply:
"Not many seek to learn the lore of the drakes,
Less folk seek to learn the lore of the dwarves.
But them who seek will find both drakes and dwarves gots sumpin in common with the Arkati."

Clunk recites deeply:
"So, startin with what ye maybe already know about how the Arkati came to be."

Clunk recites deeply:
"Zelia was born when the silver drake of Chaos died in the Cave of Ages."

Clunk recites deeply:
"Mularos was also born when a silver drake died."

Clunk deeply says, "Or so the stories say."

Clunk deeply says, "When ye visit Zul and climb the stairs, ye will mebbe note the ancient art showin this too."

Clunk recites deeply:
"Eorgina was born from body of a grey drake that had crashed into the slopes of Nagothrym.  Her palace Li'Aerion was built near it."

You softly say, "Love art that shows history."

Clunk deeply says, "Some folks has been there."

Clunk recites deeply:
"Luukos was born from the body of a golden drake on the peaks of Nagothrym, after the gold drake lost a battle to a more ancient black drake."

Clunk recites deeply:
"More recent, some have say'd Ronan 'n Sheru were born twins when a single red drake lost a battle with another drake, Shadow with Wings.
Others say Ronan be son of Koar and Lumnis."

Clunk recites deeply:
"Some think Shadow With Wings be the one ye can see e'en today flyin over the ways between Zeltoph and Koar's shrine."

Clunk recites deeply:
"The two things ye maybe would note in all them so far is,
they is the Arkati that left for Lornon
And they all came into being when a drake died.
      Except for Ronan."

Clunk nods.

Clunk deeply says, "When the Arkati call'd GrandPa seeked knowledge, he went to Nagothrym.   If any knows lore of him born of drake, let me know.  Some think he was one Arkati not born of drake, but guided by them."

Clunk deeply asks, "Fash'Lo'nae?"

Raelee nods faintly at Clunk.

Clunk recites deeply:
"Some think those born of drake were sposeta go to Lornon
Those guided by drake were sposeta go to Liabo."

Clunk nods.

Clunk recites deeply:
"The dwarfs say this cuzza all the lore we knows of them that went to Liabo is that they had become Arkati after seeking the learnin of the drakes."

Clunk deeply says, "Or mebbe was Arkati seekin they aid."

Clunk recites deeply:
"Phoen was mentored by an orange drake."

Clunk recites deeply:
"Lumnis was another.  She was born of light and water on Nagothrym, mentored by and wedded Koar on its peaks. Witness was a drake - Fergushion.  "

Clunk recites deeply:
"Some say Koar was a drake, some say no.  Dwarfs say that duzznt mean as much as knowin they all speak of Nagothrym."

Clunk recites deeply:
"The thing they seem to gots the same is the place it all happened - Nagothrym."

Clunk deeply says, "So."

You softly ask, "Where is Nagothrym Ive never heard of it?"

Clunk peers quizzically at you.

Clunk deeply says, "Now ... that I caint say for sure."

Clunk deeply says, "But."

Clunk shrugs.

Clunk deeply asks, "So - where this all go?"

Clunk recites deeply:
"Lots have heard Eonak made dwarves from mud.
Tiz a funny thing to elfs and humans.
They just smile and say that's why we be as stubborn as rocks."

Clunk recites deeply:
"Lots know we say we was made from earth, by Eonak, on one of his more idle days."

Mikalmas grins at Clunk.

Clunk recites deeply:
"Us dwarves think that's special, and also this."

Clunk recites deeply:
"We came from the earth of Nagothrym, same place lots of Arkati came into being, either by the passin of a drake, or by learnin from them."

Clunk recites deeply:
    "And us dwarves?
We too came from the home of the drakes, we was made of the earth they walked, and we was the ones sposeta stay in Nagothrym when the Arkati left fer the moons."

Clunk recites deeply:
"And that's why we call this speakin'
"Lore of the Arkati and Dwarves"."

Haedahl quietly asks, "You were left behind....to be servants?"

Clunk deeply asks, "Well?"

Mikalmas says, "Interesting tale.  I wonder...Nagothrym....DragonSpine...hmm.  Or Aenatumgana?  More likely the latter."

Clunk deeply says, "I dunno."

Speaking deeply to Mikalmas, Clunk says, "Gots ideers on it."

Mikalmas says, "The Arkati were servants to the Drakes.  We are servants to the Arkati.  As I see it."

Speaking to Mikalmas, Meril says, "Most legends place it in the DragonSpine--near the old dwarf-homes."

Mikalmas says, "I assumed one or the other. That was my first thought."

Mikalmas says, "But then, the birthing sands...just kind of threw me off."

Mikalmas grins.

Clunk deeply says, "Some talse say elfs was servants to the dark Arkat eorgina."

Clunk deeply says, "And their be signs of that at Li'Aerion."

Clunk nods at Meril.

Clunk deeply says, "To what I know, it can only be reached from Zul."
